Volunteer Opportunities in the Fox Valley: Week of May 26

Appleton Housing Authority: Is now looking for a volunteer receptionist at their head office until mid-June. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 9am to 3:30pm, with flexibility. Child Care Resource and Referral Inc.: Is looking for volunteers for office clean-up projects such as disassembling and sorting file folders and similar tasks, as well as volunteers to help pack giveaway bags, and sort and add labels to items for summer events. Community Benefit Tree: Looking for volunteers for Angels to Heroes Night during the Races from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on June 7. Angels to Heroes will have an information booth and will be selling 50/50 tickets during the race, and will need volunteers to sell tickets or staff the booth. Contact: David, 920-309-7709

Fox Valley Literacy: Seeks volunteers for childcare and activities while parents learn English. Volunteers receive training and games and snacks are provided. Parents take care of diaper and bathroom needs. Classes are Wednesday, June 19 to December 11 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in downtown Appleton. Six to fifteen children are expected. Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity and ReStore: Is looking for cashiers to strengthen their volunteer team. Provide customer service, enforce policies, handle transactions, and manage a cash register system. Provide training. Loaves and Fishes of the Fox Valley: Is looking for volunteers to pack and box ‘to-go’ meals from 3pm to 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Volunteers must be 18 years old. Outagamie County Mentor Program: Is actively looking for volunteers to supervise two children awaiting competitions. A 7-year-old boy from Menasha enjoys sports and activities such as basketball, soccer, fishing and baking. Likewise, an eight-year-old girl from Appleton enjoys baking, art, swimming and gymnastics. Pillars Inc.: Is seeking Front Desk Assistants at the Adult & Family Shelter and Resource Center to serve as a point of contact for clients, staff, donors and community members. Volunteers greet visitors and customers, answer and direct telephone calls, monitor the lobby, provide donation collection and assistance, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
