NIA CHARGESHEETS 3 IN CHHATTISGARH CPI (MAOIST) KIDNAPPING AND MURDER CASE

New Delhi, May 25, 2024: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday charged three suspects in the Chhattisgarh CPI (Maoist) kidnapping and murder case, in which three civilians were brutally murdered after being branded as police by the banned terrorist organization informants.

The suspects have been identified as Sannu Ram Atlami @ Sunil, Suresh Katlami @ Kachlami and Sanker Nureti @ Shanker. NIA, in its charge sheet filed before the Special Court, Jagdalpur, has charged them under various sections of the IPC and UA(P) Act.

All three accused are members of the CPI (Maoist) and were found to be involved in the group’s criminal conspiracy regarding the kidnapping of six civilians from Morkhnadi village, Kanker district, Chhattisgarh. Three of them were later killed after labeling them as police informers in a self-styled ‘Jan Adalat’ – a kind of parallel judiciary led by CPI (Maoist) cadres and their associates in the Modemarka Forest on November 1, 2023.

NIA, which initiated investigation in February 2024 in the RC – 12/2024/NIA/RPR case, has been cracking down on the activities, cadres and workers of the banned terror organization to undermine their anti-India agenda.

The trio charged today were actively involved in the conspiracy to kidnap and kill three innocent civilians and in promoting and propagating the terror agenda of the CPI (Maoist), operating in that area, through various fronts including the Krantikari Kishan Committee, Mahila Mukti Manch, People’s Revolutionary Party. Council (RPC), Jantana Sarkar etc. Jantana Sarkar has been declared an illegal organization of CPI (Maoist) by the Government of Chhattisgarh.

Further investigation into the case continues.
