Officials: Voters of 9 Assembly seats of Surat can vote in Navsari, Bardoli polls | Ahmedabad News

Nearly 29 lakh voters in nine constituencies of Surat district falling under Navsari and Bardoli Lok Sabha seats can cast their votes on Tuesday, election officials clarified.

“Four Assembly seats – Limbayat, Udhna, Majura and Choryasi – fall under the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency and have 14.39 registered voters with 1,297 polling stations. Similarly, five seats – Kamrej, Mangrol, Mahuva, Mandvi and Bardoli – fall under the Bardoli Lok Sabha constituency, which has 15.40 lakh voters in 1,585 polling stations,” said District Collector Sourabh Pardhi.

Four of the nine Assembly seats fall under the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency, where BJP president CR Paatil is contesting against Congress’s Naishadhbhai Bhupatbhai Desai. Similarly, five Assembly seats are under the Bardoli Lok Sabha constituency, which is witnessing a battle between Prabhubhai Vasava of the BJP and Siddharth Chaudhary of the Congress.

Of the total 2,882 polling stations, webcasting will take place at 1,453 polling stations, he said, adding, “The industries have been directed to provide paid holidays to the workers so that they could vote.”
