Crystal Palace 4-0 Manchester United: Michael Olise scores twice in dominant win

Michael Olise has scored nine Premier League goals for Crystal Palace this season

Crystal Palace sealed a first league match against Manchester United with a rampant 4-0 win at Selhurst Park.

Michael Olise ran 20 meters without any challenge to eventually get past Andre Onana and give Oliver Glasner’s side the lead after 13 minutes.

Jean-Philippe Mateta surpassed Johnny Evans and finished emphatically for his sixth goal in a row on his own field.

Tyrick Mitchell tapped in from close range after a fine cross from Adam Wharton in the 58th minute and French youngster Olise took advantage of a Casemiro error to put a goal past a poor Onana.

From the opening minute, Glasner’s men looked full of intent against a United side that failed to show up at Selhurst Park.

As a defensive unit, United put in one of their worst performances of the season, with Casemiro and Evans becoming their 14th centre-backs of the campaign.

Eberechi Eze and Olise were given freedom on the pitch to control play and caused United problems on numerous occasions.

Ten Hag’s team threatened within moments, with Casemiro twice having a goal disallowed: the first due to a foul on Dean Henderson and the second due to offside.

Odsonne Edouard almost rubbed more salt in the wounds, but his effort in stoppage time hit the upright.

With Arsenal in the hunt for the title, United must improve massively to avoid another thrashing.

More to follow.
