Indian EV startup makes offer to interns rejected by Elon Musk

“At Pravaig Dynamics, we understand how important it is to feel valued and supported in your career pursuits. That’s why we would like to extend a sincere invitation to those affected by this unfortunate situation,” Shivangi Bagri, partner at Pravaig, wrote on her LinkedIn page.

Bagri, who looks after HR at the startup that produces electric SUVs and high-precision batteries for electric vehicles, said Tesla’s appointment letter was sufficient proof of skills, experience and potential that “doesn’t just disappear with a withdrawn offer.”

“If you’re in limbo, unsure of what the future holds and have a real offer letter from Tesla, we’d love to chat with you to see how you might fit in with Pravaig.

“While we may not be able to replicate the exact opportunity you envisioned with Tesla, we can promise you a supportive environment where your talents will be recognized and valued if you choose to move to India’s Silicon Valley and work at Pravaig ” she wrote. .

Musk has fired two senior Tesla executives in recent days amid reports of plans to lay off hundreds more employees, mainly due to declining sales and the pace of job cuts so far.

Bagri said in the post addressed to ‘Tesla Aspirants’ that there has been a lot of unemployment in the news lately.

“From Big Tech laying people off for maternity leave to companies finding any excuse not to honor their contracts with employees, it’s this disheartening news (about Tesla withdrawing offers to interns) about our industry that really made me want to do something about it , ” she said.

Some individuals, she said, who were eagerly awaiting the start of their journey at Tesla had their offer letters unexpectedly rescinded weeks before their intended job.

“I can only imagine the disappointment, frustration and uncertainty that this turn of events must have caused these individuals and their families. Transitioning to a new role, especially at an exciting company like Tesla, is an undertaking that requires both emotional and logistical preparation. It’s definitely a tough pill to swallow to have that excitement abruptly stop,” she said.

Musk had announced last month that Tesla had “made the difficult decision to reduce our global workforce by more than 10 percent.” Although several executives have since left the company, most of the 500-employee Supercharger division and the newly formed marketing team have been disbanded.

“Your journey may have hit a bump in the road, but together we can navigate to a better future. Let’s explore the possibility of working together, not as a replacement for what you’ve lost, but as a new beginning full of promise and opportunity ,” Bagri wrote to Tesla interns, asking them to contact her or Pravaig’s HR team in case they are open to her idea.
