Hollywood car in building – NBC 6 South Florida

A woman was taken to the hospital early Tuesday morning after her car crashed into a building in Hollywood.

A car crashed into the side of a Wholesale Flooring Depot located at North 22nd Avenue and Sheridan Street around 3 a.m.

Video shows a black sedan with extensive damage and concrete debris coming from the building.

NBC6 cameras captured the moment a woman was removed from the ambulance in a stretcher and taken to the hospital.

Hollywood Fire confirmed the driver was transported to Memorial Hospital and a structural engineer was contacted to inspect the building for safety.

It’s unclear how the female driver ended up so far off the road and into the side of the building, but a witness told NBC6 he saw the car driving down the street before hitting the train tracks and flying into the air, crashing into the building .

This is not the first time a car has crashed into the same company.

In 2021, a vehicle was traveling at high speed along Sheridan Street when it approached railroad tracks and became airborne.

Once airborne, the vehicle landed approximately 50 feet from the tracks and struck a curb, causing the vehicle to lose control and travel another 300 feet before colliding with the vacant building at 2201 Sheridan Street in Hollywood.

Tuesday’s crash remains under investigation and NBC6 is awaiting further information on the condition of the driver and the safety of the building.
