Oil gains 1% on hopes of stronger demand » Iraqi News Agency

Oil prices closed around 1% higher on Friday, with the global Brent crude benchmark posting its first weekly gain in three weeks, as economic indicators from the world’s two biggest oil consumers – China and the US – boosted hopes of higher demand .

Brent settled 71 cents higher, or 0.9%, at $83.98 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI) rose 83 cents, or 1.1%, to $80.06.
Brent gained about 1% this week, while WTI rose 2%.
