Women’s lacrosse overwhelmed by Northwestern in NCAA quarterfinals, 20-7

EVANSTON, Ill. – The University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse team was down 4-3 against top-seeded and defending champion Northwestern early in the second quarter of the NCAA quarterfinal at Martin Stadium, but the Wildcats scored five straight goals, 13 of the next 14. , and 16 of the next 18 to overwhelm the Quakers, 20-7.

With the win, NU advances to the semifinals, where they will face the University of Florida. Penn’s season ends 15-5. This marked the sixth time the Quakers reached the NCAA Quarterfinals under Lois S. Leitner Head Coach Karin Corbett.

Erika Chung scored a career-high three goals and dished out an assist for four points Thursday night Anna Brandt scored twice and Niki Miles delivered two assists. Defensive, Izzy Rohr had four caused turnovers and Natasha Gorriaran came with three.
