Jumbo Lacrosse men deserves a big bid; Will travel to New York for NCAA opening rounds

MEDFORD, MA (May 5, 2024) – The Tufts University men’s lacrosse team discovered its fate for the 2024 NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday evening, as the No. 6 Jumbos earned an at-large Pool C bid in the field and will travel to Schenectady, NY to compete Saturday at Union College against the winner of Illinois Wesleyan University and Aurora University.

The Jumbos (13-3) make the trip to just outside Albany to take on the Titans of Spartans, who will play at Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday in Bloomington, Illinois. On the other hand, host Union College (12-5) will take on Stevenson University (13-6). Game times this weekend have yet to be announced at Frank Bailey Field.

Tufts has never played Aurora or Illinois Wesleyan in program history, although the Jumbos have competed extensively against Stevenson and Union. Tufts is 6-3 all-time against the Stevenson University Mustangs, while the Jumbos are 3-2 against Union College, including a 24-5 win earlier this season at Bello Field in Medford.
