11 schools have announced 0% SSLC results in Belagavi and Chikkodi education districts

Belagavi: Authorities in Belagavi are seriously concerned over the sharp decline in the state rankings of Chikkodi and Belagavi education districts during the recent SSLC examinations. Another alarming fact is that Belagavi district has the highest number of secondary schools with 0% results in the state. Of the 78 schools in the state that have achieved 0% results, six are in Belagavi education district and five are in Chikkodi education district. Chikkodi’s SSLC result has dropped significantly from last year’s rank of 13 to 25, while Belagavi’s rank has dropped from 26 to 29. Moreover, the schools with 0% results have created additional concern for the department as no few schools recorded such results. in both education districts last year. The department takes the 0% results seriously and has decided to send notices to the eleven schools seeking clarification. DDPI Mohan Kumar Hanchate, who is in charge of both the education districts, said: “We will issue notices to all these eleven schools on Monday.” “Most schools with a rate of 0% either have a shortage of students or teachers. Many of these schools have fewer than five students. In many schools there is one teacher. We are considering taking strict action against such negligent schools,” he said. To improve the pass rate and eliminate schools with 0% results, the DDPI and its team have planned a different approach this year. They have decided to provide guidance to students who have failed certain subjects through subject experts. These students are given three chances to clear their backlog and receive their grade cards together with the students who completed all subjects at once.
