Pirates in action, May 6 – 11

There are big weeks and then there is the Continental High Softball schedule as they have a maximum of four games, all with the potential to have a major impact on the banners hanging at the Cove. No. 5 seed softball starts the week by hosting No. 7 seed Crestview in an OHSAA Division IV Elida District Sectional Semifinal on Monday. If the Pirates win, they will travel to No. 2 seed Patrick Henry on Thursday for a sectional final. Remark all tournament games are $5 for students and $8 for adults, with tickets available at Tickets may be available in cash at the gate, but this depends on venue rules.

Softball is an important game on Tuesday evening, because undefeated in the Putnam County League, Miller City and Continental will play for the title. A Pirates win on Tuesday and a win on Wednesday against Kalida will give the Pirates the championship. A Miller City win will give them the league crown.

Baseball starts in Holgate on Monday with a trip to Miller City on Tuesday. The Pirates will play baseball at home against Kalida on Thursday and at home against Delphos Jefferson on Friday. Track is home on Thursday and Ottoville is coming to town. This week is also the last week of the regular season for this year, so hit the road one last time for the Seniors. Baseball has the district draw on Sunday.
