Rain delay updates from Yankee Stadium, May 5

With the New York Yankees set to begin the bottom of the eighth inning of Sunday’s matinee against the Detroit Tigers, the game went into a rain delay.

The Yankees had a 5-2 lead when Jon Berti would come to the plate and get the action going in the bottom half of the eighth frame as the Sails came onto the field in the Bronx at approximately 4:30 PM ET.

But with so little of the match left to play, it would be a shame if they couldn’t finish the match on Sunday. So when does the Tigers-Yankees game start again? Here’s what we know with all relevant updates.

The worst of the rain was already over by the time the tarp came out for the Tigers-Yankees game, with the rain expected to stop around 5:30 PM ET. That should likely give a restart time between 5:30 and 6:00 PM ET early Sunday evening, based on the latest projections.
