Warriors’ Draymond Green torches Knicks fans’ ‘delusion’ in NBA playoffs – NBC Sports Bay Area and California

The New York Knicks have a 2-0 lead over the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals, but Warriors veteran Draymond Green isn’t convinced by their performance.

Green said on his podcast “The Draymond Green Show” that he doesn’t believe New York is legit this season despite all the hype surrounding the team, and even downplayed its competitiveness in the Eastern Conference.

“In the Eastern Conference, you can get to the conference finals if you play very mediocre teams,” Green said. “That’s kind of what you’re all doing right now. I think this prepares you all for what happened to the Atlanta Hawks three years ago when they made it to the conference finals and never came back. A different team, to give you some perspective to give: these were the Portland Trail Blazers. They had all those guys and they went to the conference finals and we pretty much beat them without Steph Curry.

“They went off and paid all those guys because they thought they had a team that had a chance. And it was a fluke. So that’s what the Knicks are preparing you all for and it will probably happen again are fifteen.” Years of misery where we will all sit around and laugh at Knicks fans with their delusions because that is exactly what is happening.”

Jalen Brunson has highlighted the Knicks’ season, averaging 35.6 points on 45.7 percent shooting, 4.4 rebounds and 8.1 assists in 42.3 minutes during New York’s playoff run.

The “Villanova Three,” consisting of Brunson, Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo, have been a story unto themselves this season and throughout the postseason.

But Green isn’t convinced, and he’ll need to see a bit more of the Orange and Blue to influence his decision.
