“We received 27 project proposals totaling more than $1 million,” said Deputy Forest Supervisor Molly Ryan. “The Resource Advisory Committee will have the opportunity to make recommendations on which projects should be funded with the $740,000 available in Title II funds.”

The meeting will take place from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Thursday, May 9 at Camp Rotary (19 Camp Rotary Road in Neihart). The public is invited to attend in person or virtually.

The Helena-Lewis and Clark RAC is a group of 9 to 15 volunteers who provide advice and recommendations to the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest regarding fund allocations, reimbursement proposals, and larger project work throughout the forest. Advisory committee members represent a wide variety of backgrounds and interests, and committees strive to achieve equal representation from tribal and government agencies, industry, environmental groups, recreation groups and local residents. Funding and administration of the RAC is provided under the authority of the Secure Rural Schools and Self-Determination Act (Title II).
