Magic vs Cavaliers Prediction and best bets for Game 7 – 5/5/2024

There’s only one spot left in the second round of the NBA playoffs up for grabs, and it will be filled this afternoon when the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers meet in Game 7 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (1 p.m. ET, ABC ).

This is the only first round series in which all seven possible matches are played, and it is the only one in which the home team has won every match.

Will that trend continue today and see fourth-seeded Cleveland advance to a matchup with the Boston Celtics? Or will Orlando pull out the win and reach the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2010?

  • Read on for the best spread, over/under and player prop bets for Magic vs Cavaliers Game 7.
  • Which team is likely to come out on top in Cleveland? Relevant betting trends favor the home team.
  • Where can you place bets on this game and the rest of this year’s NBA Playoffs? Find out below.

On Friday night, the Magic kept the series alive with a 103-96 win at the Kia Center. Donovan Mitchell scored 50 points for the Cavs, but big games for Paolo Banchero (27 points, eight rebounds, four assists), Franz Wagner (26 points, five rebounds) and Jalen Suggs (22 points, six rebounds, four assists) helped steer fans go home happy.

In the most recent game in Cleveland, the Cavs earned a 104-103 win in Game 5 last Tuesday. It was the closest game of the series yet, and it represented a missed opportunity for the Magic, who led several times in the fourth quarter but failed to seal the deal.

Betting analysis of Orlando Magic vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Orlando is 17-29 SU but 25-21 ATS as an underdog this season, and no team is better at hitting all season, both in quantity (55 times in 88 regular season and playoff games) and percentage (62 .5%, with the Dallas Mavericks coming in second at 59.1%).

Since not covering the first two games in Cleveland, the Magic have covered the spread in each of the last four games. They were favorites with home wins in Games 3, 4 and 6, and they were an underdog in their one-point loss in Game 5.

Recent trends also favor road teams in Game 7s. Since the 2020-21 season, the road teams are 6-3 SU in Game 7s. Last season, road teams were 2-1 SU in Game 7s.

However, the Cavaliers have only managed to score in more than four consecutive games once this season. In a seven-game stretch from February 12 to February 28, Cleveland played seven straight games without coverage, all as favorites.

So from a spread betting perspective and a win/loss perspective, the outlook is good for Cleveland, especially considering how things have gone for the home teams in this series.
