Celtics one win away after 106-99 Game 3 victory in Dallas

Boston took over to open the third period. Derrick White and Jrue Holiday had a few key baskets, and Boston’s abundance of talent began to overwhelm the Mavericks. Additional passes led to open shooters, as Dallas scrambled to keep up.

But Doncic and Irving kept coming. They did what they are paid to do, which is make hard shots, even despite good defense. Indeed, Boston was not lacking in this category, but the Mavericks stars were that good.

Jaylen Brown was the defining factor of the period. He scored 15 points in the third alone, punctuated by a huge slam in the final moments of the quarter. Boston jumped 85-70 with the fourth on deck.
