Tajikistan recorded a 3-0 win against Pakistan’s final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Dushanbe on Tuesday after the national team was given a one-goal lead by Mabateshoev Shervoni in the 35th minute.

The Tajiks scored the second in the 65th minute as Safarov Manuchehr secured his country’s victory against Pakistan.

The third was scored by Vahdat Hanonov in the 70th minute, crushing all hopes of the Men in Green.

The defeat comes as Pakistan remained bottom of Group G having lost all six matches.

Last week, Saudi Arabia defeated Pakistan 3-0 at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad on Thursday.

Pakistan started their journey with a 4-0 defeat to Saudi Arabia in Al-Ahsa in November, followed by a 6-1 defeat to Tajikistan in Islamabad in the same month.

Jordan then defeated Pakistan 3–0 in Islamabad in a match held in Ramadan, with the Shaheens also losing the reverse match 7–0 at the Amman International Stadium.

Recall that the entire Pakistan football team was finally able to land in Dushanbe ahead of their match against Tajikistan today.

Some of the players and support staff had left Islamabad for Dushanbe after the match against Saudi Arabia. However, some were left behind after their flights from Faisalabad were canceled twice due to a technical problem and a bird strike respectively. Later, a charter flight was also canceled due to technical problems.

As the team’s participation in the match was in jeopardy, the Pakistan Air Force came to the rescue and flew the players to Tajikistan from Nur Khan Air Base in the morning.
