The young NFC North QB makes outrageous comments about his offensive weapons

The NFC North could quietly become one of the best divisions in football come the 2024 NFL season, and this young starting QB could be a big reason why. The NFC North may have three viable playoff teams in 2024 with the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. If Caleb Williams can produce modestly as a rookie, the Bears may be in great shape to compete for a Wild Card spot.

Detroit has established itself as a top team in the NFL, so there should be no questions about that. The Green Bay Packers got off to a late start in the 2023 NFL season and, thanks to Jordan Love, now appear headed for a huge Super Bowl opener, perhaps even this year.

Last week, Packers QB Jordan Love made an interesting point about his wide receiver teammates:

“I don’t think you have to have a No. 1 receiver,” Love said. “I think it works well when you can spread the ball around and you have different guys making different plays and you can put them in.” different areas.

“I think it puts a lot more pressure on the defense and the calls they can get, so I think it helps us in the long run not to have a No. 1 guy, a real No. 1 guy, but I think all that Those guys can be the one every day.”

Honestly, when you think about it, this is a huge insult to the Packers’ young receivers. Love makes it clear that the Packers don’t currently have a No. 1 wide receiver and don’t need one to be successful, but this is a backhanded compliment at best.

Sure, that may be true now, but the better answer to that probably would have been, “Man, all of our guys could end up being No. 1 wide receivers. They’re all young, so it might take a while before they take over that role. .”

I think Love’s words here are actually quite disrespectful to his WR teammates, even if it could be schematically true.
