Election Result 2024: NDA wins 30 seats, INDIA bloc wins 9 in Bihar, all eyes on Nitish Kumar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA won 30 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, while the INDIA bloc secured nine seats. NDA partners BJP and JD-U won 12 seats each, Chirag Paswan-led LJP-Ram Vilas (LJPRV) won five, and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) got one seat. While the BJP lost its majority in the polls announced on Tuesday, the alliance led by it easily crossed the magic number of 272 seats.

Meanwhile, the opposition bloc’s allies RJD won four seats, Congress (3) and CPI-ML (2). Congress Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav secured the Purnea seat as an independent candidate.

Chirag Paswan and his brother-in-law Arun Bharti defeated RJD candidates Shiv Chandra Ram and Archana Ravidas from Hajipur and Jamui respectively.

Post Lok Sabha mandate, all eyes are on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar after JDU won 12 seats. After reports emerged earlier in the day that the opposition bloc INDIA has approached Kumar to make another comeback in the alliance he initiated, sources later confirmed that the JD(U) chief is set to attend the NDA meeting living scheduled for Wednesday
